The basket you will learn to make on this course is a mini version of an Irish creel traditionally used in Ireland as panniers on ponies. The size of creel you will make is ideal as a bicycle basket or for storing magazines. More advanced students will be able to make a second basket using similar techniques.

Mini Creel   Mini Creel

Differing from traditional English baskets,  Irish and Scottish creels are made upside down with the stakes stuck in the ground or in a template. They were used to carry peat or potatoes on your back or on ponies. In this class you will make smaller versions of the traditional designs.

The class is suitable for beginners and those with some experience.

Cost: The  full cost of the course is £100 for those with professional salaries, concession rate for those who are unwaged is £75 (including materials). If you are earning something inbetween, you pay something inbetween. You decide.

Booking is essential on all courses
