Feeling a bit cramped in the studio today. A couple of days ago we brought in all the willow from last winters harvest that had been drying outside over the summer. Seaside Basket ..... available in my Etsy shop (link in bio) This was an experimental piece incorporating shells, seaweed, and rope found on the beach in St Leonards-on-sea. I haven't made anymore like this as my experiments have taken me elsewhere. I quite like the memories of summer days on the beach it invokes however. Maybe I'll come back to making more like this one day.

Just having coffee at Scotney Castle. A welcome break on a rainy days walk. I'm in the middle of a six day hike around the High Weald of Kent and Sussex. The blackberries are a bit past it now but plenty of good looking slows about.

Very grateful for the day, last week, spent with photographer @pauljcochrane learning about how to take good pictures of my baskets indoors and out. Swipe to see. The first and last pictures were taken by me after learning how to take studio shots. Quite pleased with how they came out! Thanks to @maikecochrane for all the assistance and some modelling too.....(those photos will be posted another time). Very lucky with the weather when outside...we got the last day of summer!

I'm photographing some of my old stock this morning using the great new steps built in the garden by @craftedlandscapes as a backdrop. This is a backpack I made a couple of years ago. It is made using traditional Scottish and Irish back creel making techniques.
