This class has been organised to coincide with the Scottish Basketmakers Circle Autumn Gathering and AGM at the Barony Centre, West Kilbride on Sat 25th Oct (Details Here). A basketry exhibition ‘This Beloved Earth’ (details here) is also on in West Kilbride, with exhibits from famous basketmakers Joe Hogan, Lise Bech, Mary Butcher, Lois Walpole, Barbara Ridland and Carlos Fontales. Ardrossan where the ferry to Arran leaves from is only 5 miles from West Kilbride and I have timed the class so that basketmakers can go on Saturday and then travel across the water for some frame basket weaving on the beautiful Isle of Arran on Sunday and Monday.
