Over the weekend you will learn to use willow to make a round basket. A strong handle will be added.
This is a great class for complete beginners and also for those who have done some basket-making before and who really want to get to grips with basic basketry/willow-weaving skills and maybe learn a couple of new techniques.
Beginners will learn how to make a base, upset and weave the sides of a basket, turn down the border, add and wrap a handle for the basket if wanted.
Improvers will be able to refine the above skills as well as learn a different method of upsetting and learn a new/different side weave.
There will be a maximum of five people in this class at my studio so you will be able to get the attention needed to hone your skills. There will also be an opportunity to learn about and see first hand how willow is soaked and prepared.
Tea and coffee and biscuits/snacks are provided. There is a local pub where you could buy lunch or else you are welcome to bring your own to eat in the workshop or outside.
All materials are included in the price and all tools needed are provided.

Cancellation Policy
Payment is required in full at the time of booking to secure a place. In the event of cancellation, a full refund can be obtained from Brown Paper Tickets up to two months prior to the date of the class.
If you need to cancel after this please contact me. If your place can be filled by someone else I will give you an 80% refund if your place can be filled by someone else. I will make all reasonable effort to fill your place but if this is not possible I will not be able to offer a refund. In the event of non attendance no refund will be given. If the course cannot run for any reason, a full refund will be given.
